| The RIO Gold has received an upgrade in both series! |
These four lines now feature SlickCast Technology. This technology incorporates two new developments: SlickCast and OutLast. They are both what they seem. SlickCast boasts the slickest lines on the market, which means easy casting and further distances while OutLast means that your fly lines will not be tired and gummy after a hard season of fishing because it will always have that fresh out of the box feeling.

While the upgrades are featured only in those four series within the Premier Level, other lines like the RIO Creek and LightLine that are within the Premier Level will remain unaffected for the immediate future.
But the changes are not done yet:
For InTouch series lines, the same four lines have been upgraded. The InTouch Gold, Grand, Perception and Technical Trout are now the Elite Grand, Elite Gold, Elite Perception and Elite Technical Trout. These lines will have the same SlickCast features, but have also received a core upgrade as well.ConnectCore has been a game changer with virtually no stretch and incredible sensitivity and are the base of the InTouch series of lines. RIO's updated ConnectCore Plus has all the same benefits of the original ConnectCore, but the new ConnectCore Plus includes improvements that make smoother, longer lasting lines. The original InTouch lines did not have the smoothest coating, but that has been updated and the new Elite lines are smooth and slick.
All of RIO's Premier and Elite lines still feature their other technologies, including MaxFloat tips for the highest-riding flies, SureFire color changes to let you know where the sweet spot is for casting, EasyID laser printing for line identification as well as rear and front welded loops. With the newest technologies, these are possibly the nicest fly lines ever built.
The new Elite Lines received a bit of a price bump and now come in at $119, while the Premier level SelectCast lines bumped up to $89. These changes are likely a sign of things to come and we're looking forward to it.
