We love Vosseler Reels here at Big Y.  These things are engineered about as well as a reel can be.  The attention to detail, sleek design and performance are unparalleled in the industry.  The DC2 is their best selling reel, and we can see why.

Vosseler is not the biggest name in the US reel market.  We get that.  Made in Germany, it is a well-known brand in Europe, but still considered a small potato here in the states.  The reels do come with a warranty, and we do have the means to service them here in the US.  We get that inquiry quite often,.  In all of the reels we have sold, exactly one Vosseler has had an issue, and it was easily resolved.  We do know that if you get a Vosseler, you will more than likely get more of them.  They are very well built and really have a cult following.

The original DC series put Vosseler on the map way back in the day.  It was a rock-steady reel with a good disc drag, capable of protecting 7x tippet as well as stopping a screaming steelhead or even some light saltwater use.  The DC was given a facelift in (I think it was) 2010, which it was lightened up while updating the looks at the same time.  The drag remains delicate, easily adjustable and has a good range from open to tightened with little inertia required to get it moving.

The DC2 series is just as dependable as the original.  It looks fantastic, has the right capacity and size, and it has a great drag system.  It is truly German engineering at it's finest.  The large arbor design allows good line pickup with every rotation, while a soft click greets you on both the in-going and out-going rotations.  The frame is reinforced against the spool on about 240 degrees of the circumference.  This nice feature helps alleviate pressure on the spool as you torque on that hog.

The spool is easily removable using pressure applied from the backside of the frame, while the drag housing is clean and simple looking.

Three models in the most universal sizes:  a 3/4 for smaller creek rods, a 5/6 that will look great on most trout rods, and a 7/8 for saltwater, steelhead, bass and whatever else requires a bigger rod.

The price tag is right on at $265 for the 5/6 and $275 for the 7/8.  The quality of the DC2 makes this a steal, as this will outperform many of the $300+ reels on the market.  As always, we will include free backing with every reel purchase.  Go ahead and try one, you will become a Vosseler loyalist!
