I have more than one medalist, including a vintage 1942 Medalist that was gifted to me when I was just getting started, as well as another big Medalist from the 1970s.
The original Medalist featured a clutch drag system, much like the clutch in a truck. The new Medalist is clean and simple, like it's predecessor. It features fully machined construction, a standard arbor and that awesome sound when you hook a big one. you can sound and look like you are fishing old school with the Medalist. We sell quite a few of them to match up with fiberglass rods like the Butter Stick of Finesse Glass to complete that vintage look. There is a 3/4, a 5/6 and 7/8 model that all balance their respective rods well with a decent amount of backing.
