Cutthroat Furled Leaders make a leader for just about every situation.  Whether you are Czech nymphing, dry fly fishing or throwing bass flies, one of these leaders can likely improve your game.

Which leader do I get?

For streamer fishing, or running big flies like a stonefly or hopper, the Big Bug 50" leader is the right choice, and it makes a fine all-around leader for anglers that do it all.  It is a nylon material, which is stiffer (but not as stiff as a single piece of mono), and is thicker than other choices.  Compared to a Big Nasty tapered leader, which is the ultimate tapered leader for throwing big flies, it is thicker at the top, but has much less memory and is far less stiff.

There is a taper to it, which is not always a feature of furled leaders.  The manufacturer claims that these are great for indicator rigs as well, and will not kink when sliding that thingamabobber around, which is a very annoying feature of tapered mono leaders.

We carry these in 50" length with a loop.

Cutthroat's Nylon Furled leaders are the preferred leaders for all-around fishing.  If you might go from dry fly to nymph and back again, this is the right leader.  It is nylon like the big bug leader, but it has less material for a softer landing.  Available in 50" and 76" with loops.  Add 2'-5' of your preferred tippet and go.  While these do float, Cutthroat recommends adding a little fly dressing to the leader to avoid extra spray when you pick it up off the water. 

Nylon Furled is an all-around leader

The Dry Fly Leader is delicate, but can still push through the wind.  It is made from thread instead of nylon.  That makes it more more supple with higher flotation, perfect for dry fly fishing.   These leaders are different thicknesses for different rods:  0-3wt, 4-6wt, and 7-8wt, and are in different lengths.  The 68" is the multipurpose length, for if you are going to maybe do a dropper under a hopper.  Still built for dries, but can handle a little extra.  Built to add 3-5' of 5x-7x tippet to the loop. 

We stock the multipurpose 68" in this model, and is what we have available at the moment for 0-3wt and 4-6wt rods. 

Cutthroat Nymph leaders are built for turning over beaded nymphs, but remain supple and allow the fly to sink fast.

The Hi-Vis 50" is the best seller for nymphing.  We have leaders with a tippet ring or a loop connector.  It seems to be a split decision over the ring vs. loop debate here.  That goes down to preference.  I tend to go with loops, but a couple of the other guys here live for those tippet rings.

We also carry the Czech Nymph style as well, which is also listed under the nymph leader as it comes in the same packaging.  These are specifically designed for Czech/Euro/High-stick nymphing.  There is a "sighter" on the back, and then 36" of 20# braided line, like a Power-pro or Fireline.  There is a tippet ring on the end for easily attaching 5x or smaller tippet.  The braided line cuts through the water quickly and efficiently.  Do not use this leader like a standard tapered or furled leader.  You will likely not enjoy it as much.
