Big Y Fly Co. is proud to welcome St. Croix to our lineup.  The good folks up in Park Falls, Wisconsin have been hand crafting high quality rods for much longer than most other rod companies.  Their sticks are beautiful to look at, made from high-quality components, and they are great to fish.

We are extremely happy to have a rod that is built in the USA here in the shop.  The attention to detail is incredible; each rod is a work of art.

The Avid is very accurate
The lineup starts with the Avid Series.  These rods are fantastic for dry flies and small/medium streams where accuracy and delicacy is more important than distance.  I had a 6'6" 3wt for many
years that was my go-to small creek rod.  They have a very nice, soft tip for delicacy, but a progressive taper to the butt section that gives it some punch in the wind power.

Imperial delivers with a great price
The Imperial has been around about as long as the Avid.  This is their flagship rod model.  Why change something that doesn't need it?  While the Imperial has received some minor updates over it's lifespan, the soul remains the same.  The rod is once again made fully in the USA, so it is now called the Imperial USA!  This rod is faster than the Avid, more of an all-around rod that delivers big streamers in the wind, as well as being able to land a #18 Adams on a rising fish without spooking it.  A great choice for any lineup.  It was the first fly rod that I bought myself when I graduated from college (way too long ago).

The Bank Robber is very powerful
The Bank Robber is one of Kelly Galloup's contributions to the lineup.  If pounding the banks of the South Fork Snake, Madison or Big Hole is your game, this is your rod.  It has a fast, stiff back end with a nice flexible tip that lets you pick up a big rig and fire it back in there quickly without any false casting.  It looks great and it delivers as promised.

The High Stick Drifter (no link yet, we are waiting for our first delivery of them) is the taller brother to the Bank Robber.  Available in 9'6" and 10' versions, it has the extra length to control that nymph without an indicator.  A soft and supple tip, this can be used as a Euro style rod or with a traditional line setup.

Legend Elite is as nice as it gets
The Legend Elite is the top dog in the fight here.  Arguably the nicest rod in the shop, we love this thing!  It is incredibly responsive, lightweight and really versatile.  You can do just about anything with this rod and it will perform!  We have been using one of these bad boys all spring here in the shop and we all love it.

Check out our full lineup of St. Croix rods here and give us a call, email or live chat if you have any questions!
