Colton showing of a nice trout he caught out of Pyramid Lake in Nevada. He caught this big guy using a Shu-Fly 11 foot switch rod, and a Olive Woolly Bugger. Switch rods are incredibly veristile and can be used for much more than just Salmon or Steelhead. Any time you need to throw a long distance cast (and your 9 foot rod won't make it) or need to get down deep with your nymphs, think about grabbing a switch rod as it is helpful in both areas.
When we wrote Brandon congratulating him on being one of this months Photo of the Month Winners. He kindly asked we send his flies to his brother, as Brandon is currently active duty stationed in Hawaii and currently unable to go fish the streams he loves. Just goes to show that even if you may have forgotten that trick you taught a newbie, they sure haven't. Passing on experience or words of wisdom is almost always appreciated in the fly fishing community.
Steve took a trip to New Mexico last summer and sent us a picture of this cutthroat he caught in the Rio Grande. Jeff caught this nice 26 lb Redfish near Venice, LA. When we wrote him asking what flies he would like, he asked for some bonefish flies to take on his next trip. As Big Y grows we continue to expand upon our fly selection, and not just trout flies. We offer a wide variety of Bass, Saltwater, Salmon, Steelhead, Redfish, Stripper, etc etc. And if we don't have it, chances are we can get it!
