The following patterns were added to the Big Y Catalog for the month of August. For a complete list please visit our website or click here.

Ches's Black -An Atlantic Salmon pattern that originated in Newfoundland. Atlantic Salmon patterns (especially out of Europe) all seem to look fairly similar with slight changes in colors and materials used. However, the slight changes can make all the difference between catching fish and staring at the water hoping one will bite. Currently in size 8.
Dave's Cricket
Dave's Cricket - Crickets aren't a huge food source for fish, hence why there aren't a ton of cricket patterns out there. This one contains foam which insures it won't sink. Plenty of legs and antenna to attract the most stubborn fish. Don't just tie this guy on when crickets are abundant, throw it out there during terrestrial hatches when your go to patterns aren't producing. Currently in size 8 and 10.
Fripple BWO
Fripple BWO -The most realistic spinner pattern you will find. Translucent wings closely replicate the real thing. This pattern is sure to bring finicky fish to the surface when your normal spinner isn't doing the trick. Goose biot body wrap adds an extremely realistic segmented look. Currently in size 16.
Grumpy Frumpy
Grumpy Frumpy -If you like attractor patterns you will love this guy. Just take a moment and look it over, go ahead we'll wait..... If that doesn't look like your new favorite pattern I don't know what will. Foam body insures high floating and no floatant needed. Rubber legs, as we all know, drive fish crazy. Added a tail and a tuff of hair out the front to make it look like a cripple and you have one heck of a fly. Currently in size 12.
Holy Grail-Tungsten
Holy Grail-Tungsten - A great tungsten pattern that imitates something just about anytime of the year. Available in multiple colors (black, hare's ear, and olive) insures you can match it to the current hatch. Easily imitations caddis and mayfly nymphs, both in emergering and pupa states. Great in lakes and river. This will surely be a great go to pattern and searching pattern. In sizes 12, 14 and 16.
Hook Up Crayfish
Hook Up Crayfish -We thought the crayfish patterns had been approved upon just as much as it possibly could be, then we saw this guys. Light weight and sinking with the hook up allows you to fish the swallows without getting caught up. A great crayfish pattern to add to your arsenal when fish are keying in one them. Currently in sizes 6, 8, and 10.
Lace Caddis Pupa
Lace Caddis Pupa - For those who fish a lot of cold, freestone rivers, absolutely love the caddis. Our home waters being the Deschutes we can truely appreciate a good caddis fly. This guy has a lot of added detail that the average caddis nymph doesn't contain. Wingcases, legs, and antenna are clear stands out, you won't just notice the difference, but so will the fish. Currently in sizes 12, 14, 16.
Loop Bunny
Loop Bunny -Metallic streamers are the key in many fish chalked water. Normally they run with a price tag that discourages fisherman from trying them out. This guy is cost effective and in a classic olive streamer color. Fish anywhere you would fish a bunny leech and you will see how many more fish are keying in on your fly. Currently in size 6.
Mahalo Nymph-Beadhead
Mahalo Nymph-Beadhead -If you are heading to Pyramid lake you need to bring a few of these with you. This pattern was specifically designed for those waters, but it doesn't stop there. Fish anywhere you would fish a Bubble Back Emerger, Copper John, or a Lightning Bug especially when bugs are coming off the water. Currently in size 10, but we are sure more are to come.
Munro Killer
Munro Killer -Another Atlantic Salmon pattern, also originating from across the pond in England where they've been fly fishing forever. Sure to be a productive pattern when presented at the right time. Slight changes in this pattern will make all the difference for stubborn fish that aren't feeding and just biting out of shear aggravation. Currently in sizes 6 and 8.
Sailor Beetle
Sailor Beetle -If you recognize the name, you have surely heard of the hatch. A great pattern that closely replicates the real thing. Don't just pigeon hole this pattern to that hatch though. Also a great attractor pattern that will bring fish to the surface. Black foam along the back allows the fly to sit slightly lower than most foam patterns, also insure no floatant is needed. Currently in sizes 12 and 14.
Thin Mint
Thin Mint - An extremely buggy looking pattern that closely resembles a woolly bugger. This guy uses the most popular woolly bugger colors in the tail (black, brown, and olive) with peacock wrapped body (instead of chenille). The multi colors are meant to blend in the water and resemble the many colors in crayfish claws. Currently available in sizes 6 and 8.
