The second addition in our three part series of posts describing the new fly patterns added during December 2014.

Hobo Spey
Hobo Spey - If you have fished for steelhead in the Pacific Northwest or at least read up on it, chances are you have heard of this pattern.  One of the best swing patterns out there, this fly is designed to be an all year round go to fly. It is incredible light allowing a fisherman to fish it with any line setup to reached the ideal water column.
Sparkle Grub
Sparkle Grub - Originally designed for catching bass lurking towards the bottom.  It is hard to say where exactly to start with this fly as it has so many qualities that bass love.  It's chartreuse with red dumbbell eyes, crystal chenille and flash reflect light perfectly, and a marabou tail to give it a lifelike look. Not just for bass try it when going after trout, steelhead, panfish, etc.
Dragon Fly
Dragon Fly - These bugs can be found virtually anywhere during the summer months and fish know it.  A dragon fly pattern that matches the bugs in your area can be priceless. This one contains an sparkle body to help set it apart and give a hungry fish an irresistible option. Great on lakes, rivers, and streams throughout the US.
RS 2 Sparkle Wing - Since the invention of the RS 2 many innovative patterns have come out as part of a fast growing selection of nymphs.  This pattern adds exactly what its name says, a sparkle wing.  This gives the pattern an emerging look to it that instantly lets a fish know they had better gobble this fly up before they lose there chance.
Egan's Headstand - When it comes to going after carp it is hard to find a pattern more effective than this one. As carp strongly rely on smell and vibration in the water, it is essential to have a pattern that creates as much natural movement as possible. Tied on a scud hook to nestle in a carps mouth.
CDC Midge Pupa - With midges making up to 20% of a trouts diet it is important to have a well stocked variety of them.  This pattern is meant to replicate an emerging midge pupa and is to be fished in the subsurface. The CDC will help keep this pattern towards the top of the water without applying any additional floatant.
Mosquito Wet Fly
Mosquito Wet Fly - Not meant to be an mosquito nymph or larva (those tend to be red). This is an attractor pattern, there is something about a grizzly look that fish absolutely love. Fish on a wet fly swing and watch as fish charge this fly on its way to the surface.
Everfloat Caddis
Everfloat Caddis - Not really a dry fly, but not really a nymph either, welcome to the world of emergers.  This one was an instant classic, tied like a timeless CDC Caddis Emerger, a foam body insures this pattern won't sink below the subsurface.  Use when trout are "sipping" the surface and won't take your dry.
Flashbugger
Flashbugger - We know this isn't a new pattern, however, it is new to the Big Y catalog.  Some of you are probably wondering what took us so long to add this, well we really aren't sure.  After adding the Beadhead Flashbugger years ago we kind of forgot about the standard.  A variation of the Woolly Bugger, this pattern is sure to catch fish.
Autumn Gold
Autumn Gold - An extremely popular Salmon pattern in the Pacific Northwest.  This pattern has quickly became go to steelhead pattern in the fall.  It's subtle colors, and wing case have all the makings of a classic steelhead pattern.  Does wonders in the late fall on the Deschutes River.
Klinkhammer Purple
Klinkhammer Purple - In the last couple of years purple has quickly become the "color" in the fly fishing world.  With the success Purple Adams and Purple Haze it only made sense to add a purple klinkhammer. Klinkhammers are known for there tremendous success during the winter months, and we are sure this pattern will be no exception.
Fluff Butt-Beadhead
Beadhead Fluff Butt - When it comes to blue gill, crappie, and other panfish, not many patterns have had the success the Fluff Butt has.  Meant to be an all around attractor and leech pattern, this pattern doesn't have the bulk similar patterns have. Thus making it perfect for the smaller mouth panfish.
Wet Crayfish
Wet Crayfish - Who doesn't love a new crayfish pattern?  Let's face it crayfish catch huge trout. This particular pattern has dumbbell eyes carefully positioned toward the rear of the hook.  Not only does this help to prevent snags, it also gives the pattern that natural crayfish movement when stripped in.
